Rides In Sight and the CDC

We work hard at what we do. And we are proud to be the transportation information resource recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in their recently released planning tool for senior mobility, MyMobility Plan.

The quality of our database, combined with its accessibility, makes Rides in Sight the nationwide leader among transportation referral services. That fact was reiterated this month when the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention listed Rides in Sight as the go-to resource for older people and their families looking to plan for an independent future as part of their MyMobility Plan.

MyMobility Plan is a website and document designed to support aging adults as they consider how to stay safe, mobile and independent later in life. MyMobility Plan contains tips to manage health concerns, a checklist to prevent falls, and resources to remain mobile later in life, when transportation independence can become challenging. MyMobility Plan is a new tool for families facing the prospect of an aging loved one. Maintaining independence can be challenging, and advanced planning and early conversations can go a long way to making independence possible.

Rides in Sight is proud to be the featured transportation referral service in the new MyMobility Plan. It is an acknowledgement of the tremendous work we do not only to have the best list, but also to get that list into the hands of those who need it. Rides keep us connected, healthy and independent.

Our database lists 15,000 transportation providers. They are in communities across America, from one coast to the other, carefully researched so that we understand who they serve, what kind of rides they offer, and whether there is a cost associated. This database is maintained on a weekly basis by trained representatives, and we are always adding new transportation services as we learn of them. That’s the work it takes to keep a nationwide list of transportation service providers current.

And as we keep the list continuously updated, we also work hard to make it accessible. We have a searchable website (www.ridesinsight.org)as well as a toll-free telephone hotline (1-855-607-4337) where customer representatives are standing by 12 hours a day 5 days a week. They’ll take your call, find out what community you live in, learn what transportation needs you have and get back to you within 24 hours with your options. Rides in Sight is simple, reliable and easy to use. Need a ride? Call us!
